Overview
The Senior Manager – Bulk Sales will be responsible for building, managing, and growing a distribution network for fresh fruits. This includes expanding the customer base, developing supplier partnerships, and ensuring seamless bulk sales operations. The role demands frequent market visits, vendor negotiations, and customer onboarding while collaborating closely with internal teams to maintain operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Sales & Market Expansion:
- Drive bulk sales for imported and domestic fresh fruits across North and East India.
- Develop and expand B2B partnerships with wholesalers, mandi traders, aggregators, and institutional buyers.
- Lead new business development, negotiating commercial contracts aligned with growth targets.
- Identify new territories, business opportunities, and market linkages.
Customer & Vendor Management:
- Build and manage a strong distribution network for fresh fruits.
- Onboard and engage B2B customers for bulk fruit sales.
- Develop relationships with commodity buyers, financial partners, and development institutions.
- Negotiate with vendors to ensure competitive pricing and product availability.
- Ensure supplier risk management at all stages of procurement and sales.
Market Intelligence & Brand Positioning:
- Conduct regular mandi visits to track fruit pricing trends.
- Organize farmer mobilization programs, product demonstrations, trade shows, and technical training sessions on market linkages.
- Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities to drive data-driven decision-making.
- Strengthen brand positioning and create awareness within the local market.
Operational Excellence & Team Leadership:
- Work collaboratively with operations and quality teams to ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Train, develop, and monitor sourcing representatives in North & East on product knowledge and fulfilment strategies.
- Align business strategies with warehouse companies, government bodies, startups, and rural entrepreneurs to enhance supply chain efficiency.
Requirements & Skills
- Education: MBA preferred, but not mandatory for highly experienced candidates.
- Experience: Minimum 10+ years in bulk sales, preferably in the Fresh Fruits & Perishable Industry.
- Expertise: Strong experience in B2B sales, commodity sourcing, import operations, and distribution networks.
- Business Acumen: Ability to drive data-based decision-making and market intelligence.
- Communication Skills: Fluent in English and regional languages.
- Tech Skills: Working knowledge of MS Office & CRM tools.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel 50% of the time across North & East India.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience handling Modern Trade (MT), General Trade (GT), and Wholesale (WS) channels.
